How to Choose a Great Location in Spain..

Property:Real-Estate

If you are thinking of buying a house in Spain, the process could seem intimidating - especially if you do not know much about the country. You can successfully buy a home in Spain that you will absolutely be delighted in.

It just takes a little research. But don’t worry, this is going to be fun.

Surely your search will have a reason behind it. Maybe your job has transferred you there. Maybe there is a university there at which you want to study. Maybe you have seen a particular view in a magazine and you want to find one similar for the backdrop for your new home. Knowing the reason for your move is the first step in knowing what you are looking for in a Spanish home.

If your move is job related, you will probably seek a home close to your work. Get a map of Spain and start your search. Look for areas within an acceptable commuting distance from your job, maybe 20 or 30 miles depending on you. Or maybe you will want to live in the same town as your job. This is where you can start to narrow down your choices.

If you are moving to Spain to attend school, you will likely be better off living close to the university or at least in the same town. Again, a map can help you locate nearby communities worth looking into a little closer.

If you are looking for a home based on an article you have read or a photograph you have seen, you had better enlist the help of a real estate agent. They know the area like no one else and just might know the exact surroundings you are searching for.

Once you have pinpointed some communities near your central location, start researching. Again, an agent would be helpful. You will want to ask all the pertinent questions:

1. Is the neighborhood safe? What is the crime rate here?

2. What is the average age of the residents in the area?

3. Where are the schools located?

4. Where is the nearest grocery store?

5. Are there any restrictions in this neighborhood?

You might even want to ask about the neighborhood’s growth in the last decade or about its local income level statistics.

Remember, you can probably find answers to those questions by relying on an online search, but how accurate would those answers be? Even as great as technology is, nothing replaces the human relationship between a buyer and a seller in any real estate dealing. Consider getting an agent to help you learn more about the communities you are considering. You will be glad you did!

There are so many good points about Mosa that it is hard to sum them up. However, the main reasons that we bought here were: On our first visit we realised that we had not arrived at an ordinary tourist site. This was going to be something special."
