This 155 mile coastline belongs to the province of Murcia. It begins in the North with the beach of El Mojón, beside the border of the province of Alicante, and ends in the South with the beach of La Carolina in Águilas, towards the border of the province of Almería.

The Costa Cálida adjoins two different seas, the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Mar Menor means “small sea” in English – it’s the largest natural swimming-pool in the world! You’ll find all sorts of water sports here.

The Mediterranean has very clear water, many long and sandy beaches - and also small bays you can discover. It’s famed as one of the most beautiful diving spots in Spain, drawing divers from all over the world.

The coast of the region of Murcia starts from Aguilas in the south and ends with San Pedro del Pinatar in the north. There are many beautiful beaches along this coast, particularly at the point where the region of Murcia extends itself in the direction of Alicante.

The Mediterrean Sea along the coast of Murcia is so clear that every year diving enthusiasts arrive here from all over the world. During high season from the end of June until September, the beaches along the coast of Murcia are quite packed. It is important to remember however, that the beaches are also worth a visit outside the high season, because the Costa Calida has an average of 315 sunny days a year. Mar Menor

The southeast coast of the region of Murcia adjoins the edge of the Mar Menor. “Mar Menor” literally means small sea and is a great natural swimming pool with a surface area of 170 square kilometres. A warm wind occasionally blows over the shallow waters, and this helps make Mar Menor an ideal place to practice all sorts of watersports. Along the 73 kilometer coast of the Mar Menor there are plenty of quiet, idyllic villages as well s more lively sports. The most important villages include San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcazares, Islas Menores, Mer de Cristal and Playa Honda. The Mar Menor also has plenty of variety in its beautiful beaches. On the beaches along the Mar Menor and La Manga strip there are all the usual facilities including parasols, hammocks, beach-stands with refreshments and food, as well as multitude of excellent restaurants within walking distance. This is also a watersports paradise and equipment and classes are available on all of the beaches for windsurfing, jet skiing, canoeing and sailing.

La Manga

The Mar Menor is divided from the Mediterranean be a small strip of land 22 kilometers in length, known as La Manga del Mar Menor. The beaches of La Manga are between 100 and 800 meters wide and have clear waters with a sandy sea bottom. These features make his place a haven between two seas. There are a lot of nautical clubs located here, so that every possible watersports can be practised. The beaches can get quite crowded in peak season, and as you might expect all the usual facilities are available.

San Pedro del Pinatar

The sandy beach of San Pedro del Pinatar is luxuriously long and very popular. Because of its length it is relatively easy to find yourself a quiet spot. On the beach itself there are few rental facilities, but a lifeguard is always on hand, It is a great idea to bring along your own food and drink when visiting the beach to make a delightful picnic under the sun. However, within 5 minutes walking distance there are also several restaurants.

Cabo Roig

Cabo Roig is a small sandy beach. The beach and its surroundings are very beautiful and it is not surprising then that it is very popular both among tourists and local people.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is very popular amongst tourists with plenty of hotels and apartments. During the high season it gets particularly busy and there are a lot of sandy beaches. Although the beaches do get crowded, the water is very clear. There are lots of facilities like kiosks, parasols, hammocks and also places for watersports equipment rental.

Alicante

The city of Aicante has a few beautiful beaches of its own. La playa de San Juan is an open beach with 7 kilometers of golden sand flaked by a road. This road makes it possible to stop the car along the beach wherever you want. On the beach there are several restaurants, toilet facilities, lifeguards and first aid posts. La Albufereta is an intimate, residential stretch of sand situated next to a very built-up zone close to Alicante.

EL Postiguet beach is situated almost within the city itself at the foot of the Benacantil mountain, next to the port.

In 4 days - our whirlwind trip - and after visiting the key golfing destinations in the immediate vicinity of Mosa (Las Ramblas, Campomar, Villa Martin and La Manga), a quick trip into Murcia, many hours chatting to the Sales Team and being introduced to future Mosa residents, and MANY, MANY beers and Irish Whiskey's later(!) we were hooked! We had a gut feeling that Mosa would meet our criteria. A highly sought after location."
