Parque Regional de las Salinas y Arenales
The nature reserve of Salinas and Arenales is located in San Pedro del Pinatar, near el Mojon and is the most important wetland in the region of Murcia. Every year at the end of summer flamingos flock here to migrate to northern Africa. This nature reserve has a surface area of almost 2250 acres and is divided into a private zone for industrial use and a public zone. The public zone consists of pine trees, dunes, beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.
Sierra Espuna
The nature reserve Sierra Espuna is located just behind Alhama de Murcia. Wild Goats and lynexes still roam this special park, and the top of the mountains are still covered with snow during the winter.
